High School Hockey

The Southeast Beast High School Hockey Program is a cooperative team that brings together student-athletes from multiple local schools to compete in a competitive 20-game season with the opportunity to qualify for the USA Hockey High School National Championships.

The program is open to eligible high school players in grades 9–12, with birth years ranging from 2008 through 2012.

Designed for players seeking a competitive hockey experience with a manageable time commitment, the program includes one weekly on-ice practice alongside the Southeast Beast 16U Academy and one weekly video and hockey IQ session. This structure allows players to continue developing while balancing academics, school activities, other sports, and personal commitments.

Players interested in additional development may have opportunities to participate in extra Academy practices or training sessions. These opportunities will be evaluated individually and determined by Head Coach John Thiel.

Our goal is to provide local high school players with a competitive, development-focused environment that promotes skill development, hockey IQ, teamwork, and a continued passion for the game while competing for the opportunity to advance to the USA Hockey High School National Championships.

The Southeast Beast High School Hockey season is designed to provide a competitive schedule while maintaining a manageable time commitment for student-athletes. Our goal is to participate in approximately one tournament each month, when scheduling permits, until the team has completed the required number of games to qualify for the USA Hockey High School National Championships.
